Camperdown in 1885"At Camperdown the tourist passing through en route for Warrnambool, Belfast, or Portland misses other magnificent scenery. Everyone bound on a holiday trip should lay over here for at least one day and ascend Mount Leura and survey the view over the lakes from the public park. A week might be spent here with advantage. And Camperdown is not a bush township. It possesses first class hotel accommodation, and a visitor can be perfectly happy and comfortable, and buy everything necessary at its store".
The Botanic GardensPerched above the town and overlooking Camperdown's two spectacular volcanic lakes you will enjoy Botanic Gardens that were designed by William GuilFoyle, the creator of Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens.
