Mt Noorat Perfect Cone Crater
Your first stop is the Allan Marshall Walking Trail at Mt. Noorat. From the Princes Highway travelling west, turn right onto Mckinnon's Bridge Road. At Noorat follow the signs to the Allan Marshall walking track where you can park.
Just south of the car park you can sneek a glimpse of the entrance to William Martin's extraordinary dry garden, Wigandia, which unfortunately is not open to the public.
The track to the the north, over the style leads up to Mt. Noorat perfect cone crater. You can walk around the crater with excellent views of the surrounding land and volcanoes but this may leave you short of time for other stops.

Woorndoo Red Gum Country
About twenty minutes north after leaving the quarry brings you to Woorndoo. Turn left and you will see a piece of Victoria's Western District in a state reminiscent of the great English Park described by the Explorer Thomas Mitchell when he first saw it from the southern edge of the Grampians. In pre-colonial times many of the great Red-gums you see here would likely have been the birth-trees of individual aboriginals When a child was born the placenta and umbilical cord were buried under the nearest red-gum and it would be to the same tree that a woman would return to, to give birth.
Redgums can be 5 to 600 years old and due to their root systems they are sparsely distributed leading to the park-like aspect commented on by the explorer-surveyor.
Elephant Bridge HotelDarlington
Built in 1842, this hotel is one of Victoria's oldest. It is currently closed for renovations but B expected to re-open by October 2015.
Mt. Elephant is the highest of the Kanawinka Volcanoes. To local aborigines it was known as Terrinallum, which provides the origin of the town's name, Derrinallum. Terrinallum meant "hill of fire ", which confirms aboriginal presence during eruptions from 5 to 20 thousand years ago.
There are walking tracks around and up the mountain but unless it is a Sunday you need to collect the key for a locked gate from Geoff at "Urquhart Motors" service station. Ph: 55976570.
